1975年 東京都出身。
若い頃からバックパッカーの旅やフライフィッシングを通して自然と向き合い、手付かずの自然美にインスピレーションを受け、2000年頃から創作活動を開始。独創的な視点と撮影技術から生み出される想像を超えた現実風景は、見る人誰ものイマジネーションを刺激する。
近年は、奄美大島をテーマに精力的に活動。
今後も旅をしながら地球上の美しい場所が仕事場となり、そこで生まれた作品を様々な形で発表していく。
現在、雑誌、書籍、企業カレンダーなどで活躍中。
Jiro Tateno
Since a young age, Jiro Tateno has been back-packing and fly-fishing throughout Japan, and this kept him connected with the natural world.
The beauty of the untouched nature inspired him to begin his artistic career in the 2000s.
His unique approach to images and his shooting technics allow him to take pictures of actual landscapes that challenge the limits of imagination, and strongly impact the viewer.
Lately he’s focusing his work on Amami Oshima, a jungle island in the South of Japan.
Jiro Tateno’s lifestyle consists in traveling, making the most beautiful places on Earth his workplace.
